Little did we know a civil war which ended in 1865 would play a role in helping the federal government implement policies dedicated to ultimately hurting Americans.

But how or why a shooting tragedy morphed into a debate about American Civil War history…How we arrived at a point where a state like Tennessee wants to relocate the grave of a Civil War general because it’s on public grounds.
We’ve reached a point in the Left’s control of this country where we’re re-writing our history. George Orwell wrote in his dystopian novel 1984: “If you control the past, you control the future.”
Was the Civil War a horrible chapter in American history? Yes.
Did the Confederacy — led by Democrats against a Republican president, by the way — stand for the wrong ideals? Yes.
But Abraham Lincoln struck the right tone in his second inaugural address. Lincoln immediately sought to heal wounds still openly bleeding at the conclusion of the Civil War. The Union could’ve crushed the South. The Union could’ve rounded up or executed rebels, which happens as a more common practice in foreign civil wars.
Instead, Lincoln sought to re-create a new, re-assembled American republic.
With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation’s wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations. — Final paragraph of Abraham Lincoln’s second inaugural address.
Compare Lincoln, who witnessed the horror of war and would experience first-hand five weeks after his re-election, to the ruling Leftist Elites.
Ironically, the once-rebellious Democrat-dominated South is fiercely patriotic, Conservative and Republican than the secular, left-dominated North.
Need we point out that southern states such as Florida, Louisiana and Texas are currently economic powerhouses compared to most northern states and California.
But this Op Ed actually fell into the Confederate flag debate. It seems to work on everyone. The intention of this editorial was to point out that the Confederate flag debate is a smokescreen.
What has your government been up to while you debated the Confederate flag?
1. Congress handed over “fast-track” capability to the executive branch for the Trans-Pacific Partnership. This “free trade” deal threatens American legal sovereignty, jobs and immigration. The trade bill was literally treated as “top secret” and locked away in a room that required special access. The Founders are rolling in their graves over this one.
2. “Death Panels” are back! Yes, that’s right. The government will now PAY doctors and other medical advisers to have conversation about “end of life treatment”. In other words, they’re going to get paid to talk you and your family about taking a shot at medical treatments for the elderly and those who have a long-shot at survival. So instead of scratching and clawing to save lives, our medical personnel — who have taken a sworn oath to protect life — are now going to get paid to get you out of the hospital and into a coffin to SAVE THE NATIONALIZED MEDICAL SYSTEM MONEY.
Don’t save lives; save MONEY
3. Housing and Urban Development will now force communities to provide low-income housing and “diversity” in communities. “This overreaching new regulation is an attempt to extort communities into giving up control of local zoning decisions and re-engineer the makeup of our neighborhoods,” said Rep. Paul Gosar (R., Ariz.).
So the “change” crowd of Washington continues to move forward, using all their tricks and the will of the mainstream media to implement their change. One day we’ll look up at our American flag, try to recall the words of the “Pledge of Allegiance” and wonder where it all went.
