Tuesday’s rally will champion President, DeSantis
With the Florida primaries for both the Republican and Democratic Parties just weeks away, President Donald Trump will be in Tampa on Tuesday evening to rally his conservative base as well as to stump for Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis. Chris Ingram knows these sorts of rallies well, and on Monday he welcomed David Bossie onto his show to discuss the upcoming rally.
Bossie was the deputy campaign manager for President Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign. He discusses his passion for the president and his policies, one that started early in the 2016 campaign and has not swayed since. He tells Chris about what he sees as the president’s successes since taking office, and how somebody who came to politics from the outside is uniquely equipped to get things done in the beltway.
As Chris points out, Congressman DeSantis would likely be struggling tremendously in his governor’s campaign against Adam Putnam were it not for the support of the president. President Trump will be campaigning for DeSantis on Tuesday night, a candidate challenging the Republican establishment much the way the president does. With Trump’s support, DeSantis is surging and might just beat a candidate in Putnam with more resources than he has. David discusses the congressman’s rise in Florida politics as more than a representative, and what he would bring to the table if elected to the big position in Tallahassee.
Chris and David also discuss the difference in how they have seen President Trump’s actions in office versus what some of the louder media outlets have said about the administration. Media roles in this unique administration loom large, and the two have a serious discussion about the news in the age of Trump.
