A man with two handguns and a Quran was detained Thursday along with his female partner at Disneyland Paris, Europe’s most-visited tourist attraction. The man, 28, was detained at the New York Hotel, part of the Disneyland complex, The man’s motives for trying to enter the hotel with weapons were unclear.
His partner, who did not appear to be armed, was detained later at the park, an official said, and no other suspects are currently being pursued. The park, east of the French capital, closed briefly after the Nov. 13 attacks by Islamic extremists which killed 130 people. That incident has left France on edge and under a state of emergency.
