Hernando County deputies say a woman died after being thrown off an ATV at a birthday party.
According to police, at approximately 4:30 p.m. Jessica Oras jumped on a four wheeler, waived to her cousin Rachel Gernaat to get on, and they took off on the four wheeler.
Jessica drove around the pond, announced that she was going to speed up and as she did so, the vehicle hit a bump and both females were ejected.
Jessica sustained fatal injuries.
Another ATV drove up and took Rachel to get help.
The Medical Examiner’s Office responded and removed the body for autopsy.
Preliminary investigation revealed no signs of foul play.
