TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — The campaign of Florida Gov. Rick Scott is launching a new ad attacking former Gov. Charlie Crist.
Scott’s campaign organization said Monday it will spend $2 million on the ad that will go after Crist for his support of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.
The ad features recent television footage of Crist of saying the overhaul has “been great” for the state despite a difficult rollout. That is contrasted with recent stories about the health care overhaul.
The ad highlights news stories from last year that as many as 300,000 health insurance policies would be cancelled in Florida because of the overhaul.
But a spokesman for Florida Blue said earlier this month that most of the members have wound up keeping their health insurance.
