The Florida Highway Patrol was able to stop a drunk driver going north on the southbound lanes of the Veterans Expressway early Wednesday morning.
According to FHP, the call came in around 1 a.m. regarding a wrong-way driver just north of Vandyke Road. Sgt. Ron Evans heard the call and headed to the area. He pulled over the woman, identified as 31-year-old Maria Bolivar, before she could do any damage.
Bolivar was booked into jail on DUI charges. No one was injured.
