The Tampa General Hospital (TGH) is the latest victim of compromised security. TGH is telling nearly 700 patients that their personal information may have been compromised. TGH is one the Bay Area’s largest hospital so if this is true, then it is going to cause issues for a lot of people. The hospital began their investigation after receiving a call from the Tampa Police Department, who told them that they arrested a suspect who had patient documents. They then were able to trace it back to an employee and that employee has since been fired and the investigation turned over to the police.
In order to advise the 700 or more victims, TGH is setting up a call center to begin contacting them.
