3 Alabama Men Accused Of Killing Florida Teen In Drug Deal

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Three Alabama men are accused of fatally shooting a 16-year-old Florida teen during an apparent drug rip-off.

Bay County Sheriff’s officials said in a news release that Jason Ian Price was shot early Sunday in a drug store parking lot in Panama City Beach.

Investigators say 18-year-old Rodney Jones, 21-year-old Demarcus Giddens and 24-year-old Gertavious Montrez Canada — all from Auburn, Alabama — were arrested Sunday. Jones and Canada are charged with felony murder and armed robbery and Giddens is charged with an open count of murder and armed robbery. Investigators said they believe Giddens shot Price.

Price attended Arnold High School. Principal Keith Bland said grief counselors will be at the school on Monday for students and teachers.

Walmart Expands Grocery Service With Uber To 2 More Markets

NEW YORK (AP) — Walmart is expanding its grocery delivery service with ride-hailing service Uber to two more markets — Dallas and Orlando, Florida.

The world’s largest retailer had launched a pilot grocery service with Uber last year in Phoenix and then Tampa, Florida, earlier this year.

The move, announced Monday, marks the latest steps that Walmart is taking to offer more options for online grocery shoppers looking for convenience amid increasing competition from online leader Amazon.com. The stakes are expected to get higher with Amazon’s announcement in June to buy Whole Foods Market.

The Bentonville, Arkansas-based discounter operates its own grocery delivery system in San Jose, California, and Denver. It also has curbside grocery pick up service for online shoppers at more than 900 of its stores.

Real Estate Agent, Clients Discover Human Remains In Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A sheriff’s office says a real estate agent and clients found human remains at a property for sale in Florida.

Orlando Sentinel reports Lake County Sheriff’s deputies say the remains were found Saturday in Groveland. Sheriff’s Lt. John Herrell says investigators responded to the home after receiving a call shortly before 6 p.m.

Detectives could not fully investigate with the impeding darkness, so a deputy stood guard overnight until they could continue working Sunday morning. The Sheriff’s Office did not disclose further information.

The Sentinel reports property records indicate the nearly 5-acre (2-hecatre) property on Douglas Road north of State Road 50 has a roughly 1,000-square-foot (90-square-meter) two-bedroom house. A County Property Appraiser’s map shows the land is covered by trees with a retention pond on the property’s north end.
