A 26-year-old Sarasota man is recovering from a gunshot wound suffered Sunday, and authorities continue to look for the shooter.
The victim’s condition was not known, other than the wound being described as “non-life threatening” in a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office press release.
The incident unfolded around 3:40 p.m. outside a home in the 3200 block of Newtown Road, according to investigators. The victim was working on a vehicle in a driveway when an unknown man approached him and began shooting.
The suspect was described simply as a black male, last seen wearing black plants and a long-sleeved gray or black shirt, with a dark-colored mask or shirt over his face.
