The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three suspects who vandalized Riverview High School. Police say the suspects are all juveniles anywhere from 15-21 years old.
According to deputies, early Thursday morning at about 1:54 a.m., school security from Riverview High School contacted the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for assistance with an alarm call at the school. Deputies arrived and found nine classrooms vandalized, mostly smashed windows and televisions and a damaged surveillance system. Aviation and K-9 assisted in searching for the suspects, but were met with negative results.
Detectives are speaking with the teachers from those nine classrooms to perform a full inventory of any items that may have been taken. Preliminary information indicates that the damages will probably range from $20,000-$30,000.
While at the school, detectives viewed a surveillance video showing the three suspects breaking into the school. Riverview High School will be providing a copy of that video to the Sheriff’s Office. As soon as HCSO receives a copy of the surveillance video, we will review it and determine if it can be released.
Anyone with any information reference the suspects is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 247-8200.
