Weekend Things To Do In Orlando
Just when you thought Orlando couldn’t possibly get anymore things to do, the city proves you wrong. This weekend Orlando will be filled with beads, art and comedians for the whole family to enjoy.
On Saturday Universal Studios Mardi Gras kicks off in Orlando and will run through March 24. The New Orleans party atmosphere is mixed up with a lineup of big-name concerts for another year of Mardi Gras fun at the theme park. The event will run for 50 straight nights and will feature Cajun and Creole cuisine, Mardi Gras parade, street performers, lots of bead tossing and Zydeco bands direct from Louisiana. On 12 of those 50 nights, major musicians including Trace Adkins on Feb. 4, Ne-Yo on Feb. 11 and Collective Soul on Feb. 18 will be in concert. Other artists coming to the celebration include Fifth Harmony, Olivia Newton-John and Toby Keith. The Mount Dora Arts Festival comes to Mount Dora this weekend. On the Saturday and Sunday the Mount Dora Arts Festival will showcase the work of 285 juried artists. Each artist competes for awards in painting, printmaking, photography, jewelry, sculpture and numerous other categories. The art cases will be combined with live entertainment and children’s activities. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the showcase. Admission is free. Impractical Jokers come to Hard Rock Live on Saturday. TruTV’s comedians are ready for the fans in Orlando. Their show has been a big hit in the past selling out shows at the Tampa Theatre in 2015 and have recently sold out several shows at the Hard Rock Live. Brian Quinn, Sal Vulcano, James Murray and Joe Gatto are spotlighted in their own show where they dare each other to do something truly stupid.
