Fall is right around the corner. Friday will mark he first day of fall and what better way to bring in the new season than having some fun with indoor and outdoor activities. Two Florida cities earned titles as the most “fun” cities in the U.S.
WalletHub recently conducted an in-depth analysis of 2017’s Most Fun Cities In America and found Orlando to be second and Miami to be fourth.
150 of the largest U.S. cities were compared across 58 key metrics, which ranged from fitness clubs per capita to movie costs to the average open hours of local breweries.
Orlando fell behind Las Vegas for the number two spot followed by New York then Miami. The Central Florida city found itself with the following scores: (1 equals best)

- 1st – Restaurants per Capita
- 67th – Park Playgrounds per Capita
- 8th – Bar Accessibility
- 73rd – Parkland Acres per Capita
- 13th – Fitness Centers per Capita
- 5th – Dance Clubs per Capita
- 11th – Number of Attractions
It ranked third in ‘entertainment & recreation,’ sixth in ‘nightlife & parties,’ and sixth in ‘costs.’ It tied for first with New York for most restaurants per capita and came in fifth for most dance clubs per capita.
Miami, on the other hand, ranked 13th in ‘entertainment & recreation,’ second in ‘nightlife & parties,’ and 110th in ‘costs.’ The city took a hit to its fun ranking by being in the top five for fewest acres of parkland per capita, while on the other hand is in the top five for most fitness centers per capita.
Florida is one fun state, four other cities in the sunshine state made the top 50 cut. Tampa came in at 15th, Fort Lauderdale at 22nd, Jacksonville at 37th and St. Petersburg at 48th.
Tampa is third with most festivals per capita. Jacksonville is fifth for most park playgrounds per capita and third for most acres of parkland per capita.
