DisneyQuest Set To Close In July For New NBA Experience
Back in 2015 Disney announced that DisneyQuest at Disney Springs would be closing and on Monday it was announced that the oversized arcade will be officially closing on July 3.
DisneyQuest is closing to make room for the new NBA Experience at Walt Disney World Resort. The indoor interactive theme park will operate as normal through July 3 and will continue to feature arcade game favorites and virtual worlds until its closing.

Taking over DisneyQuest’s spot at Disney Springs will be the NBA Experience, which will include NBA video productions, interactive experiences for fans and a restaurant and retail store.
Back in 2015 when the new development was announced commissioner Adam Silver said to WFLA that the league “can’t wait to bring the magic of Disney and the excitement of the NBA to guests from around the world.”

The closing of DisneyQuest comes after Disney Springs, the largest expansion in Downtown Disney history, was completed last year. The expansion included adding 150 shopping, dining and entertainment venues.
As of now there is still no opening date for the NBA Experience and it’s not clear when construction for it will begin. Such projects usually take a couple of years to complete though and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Bob Chapek told WFLA that the NBA Experience “will be a terrific addition to the world-class lineup of shops and restaurants coming to Disney Springs.”
