An Xbox Live Gold subscription will no longer be a requirement for using the video game console’s selection of streaming media apps.
Microsoft confirmed Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners can use apps such as Netflix and Hulu without a Gold subscription. The Xbox Live Gold subscription costs $60 a year, and includes access to other features such as multiplayer gaming.
