Federal investigators are trying to figure out how best to get to the crash of a small plane in a swampy area of the Everglades.
Wreckage from the Cessna 152 was spotted Wednesday night from the air about 7 miles southwest of Miami near Homestead. The unidentified pilot’s body was seen next to the mangled plane.
A search was initiated after the plane’s owner called to report it missing. FAA officials and Miami-Dade Police say the crash is “so far into the Everglades, they might have to take airboats” to the scene.
