Miami Heat OK After Plane Slides On Snowy Taxiway Upon Landing In Milwaukee
On Wednesday night a charter aircraft carrying the Miami Heat basketball team slid while landing at Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport. The NBA team confirmed that the plane had slid while taxiing.
“Upon landing in Milwaukee tonight the team plane slid while taxiing but never left the pavement,” the team tweeted. “Everyone on board has deplaned and is ok.”
According to ABC News’ Milwaukee affiliate, WISN, the incident was reported to have occurred around 9:20 p.m. The incident was caused by snow on the runway at the time of landing, said ABC Miami affiliate WPLG.
It was also reported by WPLG that Miami Air Boeing 737 had to be towed back to safety after it slid too far off the runway.
The Heat are to play the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday closing out a six-game road trip.
Besides the NBA teams statement on Twitter there weren’t any apparent tweets from any of the players on the plane on the time. Yet fans of the Miami Heat were glad the team was ok after a scary landing.
