Fans React to Malala Yousafzai
Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi are both the recipients of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize. Yousafzai now holds the record for being the youngest prizewinner of the award at 17 years old. Yousafzai was born in Pakistan and Satyarthi is from India, have both been publicizing the importance for educational rights for children around the world. USA Today reports that for both of them winning the Nobel Peace Prize “it [is] an important point for a Hindu and a Muslim, an Indian and a Pakistani, to join in a common struggle for education and against extremism.”
After Yousafzai had been shot in the head by the Taliban back in 2012, it helped inspire her to begin her tour of promoting education. She has appeared on many talk shows such as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
With everything that is discussed in the news of social media, many people around the world have taken to Twitter to share their excitement.
