One of the world’s most prestigious road races, marred by last year’s bombing, rebounds with a massive field of runners on Monday, to be greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of over one million people along the route. Gov. Deval Patrick assured Bostonians on Sunday that the 118th Boston Marathon will strike the right balance between enhanced security and maintaining the festivity’s “family feel.” But make no mistake, authorities in charge of security Monday are taking no chances.
