Woman Admits to 911 Hoax in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says a woman admitted to a hoax after officers responded to an emergency call at an extended stay hotel.

Sheriff’s spokesman Shawn Coursey says an anonymous caller told a 911 dispatcher Wednesday night that a woman had a miscarriage at the Extended Stay Deluxe and had disposed of the baby.

The Florida Times Union (http://bit.ly/mToBdo ) reports officers found blood smeared on the walls and the door of the hotel room. But tests revealed the blood was fake and the woman admitted she was not even pregnant.

Coursey says the woman told authorities she was having problems with her boyfriend.

No criminal charges were filed because the woman admitted to the hoax.
