Mom Not Driver In Son’s Fatal Crash But Still Faces Charges

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) — A Florida mom wasn’t driving on the night her 12-year-old son died, but she’s being charged with aggravated child abuse with great harm for letting her husband drive drunk.

Authorities previously charged Carl Ingraham with DUI manslaughter in the March crash that killed young Jack Voellm. According to a Port St. Lucie police report, the SUV flipped and the boy was ejected. He sustained a massive head injury and had his right arm amputated. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Palm Beach Post reported Friday that Voellm and his 17-year-old brother pleaded with their stepfather to pull over.

The police report said 38-year-old Kelli Ingraham should also be charged even though she was a passenger because she was “as complicit and irresponsible as Carl.”

It’s unclear if the Ingraham’s had an attorney who could comment on the charges.
