Florida economists are out with their latest predictions about the state’s financial health over the next couple of budget years.
They say revenue should grow by 4.1 percent in the current fiscal year which ends next June. They also say the next fiscal year, July 2018 to June 2019, should see revenue rise between 3.6 percent and 4.4 percent.
Experts say a big part of that increase in revenue will come from the new compact between the state and the Seminole Tribe. Forecasts are that the state will get $300 million in gambling profits from the tribe over the next two years.
