An elderly Bradenton couple surrendered their 28 dogs Wednesday after an anonymous caller alerted Animal Services of a possible hoarding situation.
Officers responded to a home in the 3700 block of 35th Street West, along with Manatee County deputies and EMS.
“There were 28 small Maltese-type dogs living in dirty, unhealthy and unsanitary conditions,” Joel Richmond, officer supervisor for Animal Services, said.
