Detectives are currently investigating a shooting that occurred at a motel in unincorporated Clearwater. The male victim was shot multiple times and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 9:41 p.m. on Thursday at the America’s Best Value Inn Motel located at 28596 US Hwy. 19 North in unincorporated Clearwater.
According to deputies, the suspect entered the victim’s motel room and shot the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene on foot. Deputies arrived on scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A search of the area was conducted and deputies located a revolver handgun, according to police.
Deputies are working to identify the suspect at this time.
According to detectives, this does not appear to be a random act of violence and believe the victim and the suspect are known to each other.
