Canada Restrcits Visas Over Ebola Scare

Canada is suspending entry visas for people from countries in West Africa where Ebola was present.

According to NBC25, the Canadian government said on Friday that it is temporarily preventing visa applications for residents and nationals of countries with “widespread and persistent-intense transmission” of Ebola disease.

The countries that were most affected by the disease are Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

Australia similarly tried to do the same thing, but director general of the World Health Organization, Dr. Margaret Chan, denied them. She said that closing the borders will not stop the spread of the Ebola virus.

According to TheWorldPost, the World Health Organization said on Friday that the Ebola epidemic has killed 4,951 people out of 13,567 infected in eight countries.
