A man stabbed or slashed at least five people in a park along the Hudson River on Manhattan’s Upper West Side early Tuesday morning, according to the police.
One man was stabbed in the chest and transported to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan in serious condition, according to Fire Department officials. Four more victims were transported to Roosevelt Hospital in Midtown, including one woman who suffered a stab wound to her neck.
The severity of the other injuries was not immediately clear. The attacks occurred at about 8 a.m. in Riverside Park, according to witnesses.
The police said a man was in custody, but declined to give details on the attack.
