We are still six months away from the start of the 2016 Florida Legislature, and there is already a bill in the hopper that calls for a $15 an hour minimum wage statewide.
But supporters admit there is little chance of the measure becoming law.
Similar bills the past two years have failed to even get out of Republican-dominated committees.
And even if one managed to make it through the full Legislature, GOP Governor Rick Scott would surely veto it.
Florida’s current minimum wage is $8.05 per hour.
