The Sunshine Boys know that the Bucs will miss the playoffs but they have made a good step forward
According to The Sunshine Boys, Bucs expert Ira Kaufman “You have a better chance of seeing Halley’s Comet than seeing them in the NFL Playoffs this season. “But not to worry Bucs fans Kaufman, feels that the team seems to be headed for better things in the future.
In point of fact Tampa Bay is still alive in the NFC Wild Card race, but only barely. The Buccaneers need a lot of things to go their way to make the 2016 NFC Playoffs, including a win on Sunday combined with another Washington Redskins tie. What are the chances a team ties two games in a 16-game NFL season?
Kaufman is joined by fellow Sunshine Boy, Joe Henderson, host Jim Williams and Sports Talk Florida’s national sports columnist Tim Williams. The gang talk about the running back, Doug Martin, might have let his Tampa Bay teammates down when they needed him the most. Plus, has he played his last game in Tampa?
Most analysts agree with The Sunshine Boys that the Bucs are not playing next Sunday. But the guys think a 9-7 first year campaign for new head coach Dirk Koetter would be great. Also, Jamesis Winston maturing at quarterback does bode well for 2017.
A little about the show down on New Year’s Day, the Bucs (8-7) will close out the 2016 season at home at Raymond James Stadium against the Carolina Panthers (6-9) with a 1:00 p.m. kick-off. The game airs on Fox with Thom Brennaman, doing the play-by-play and Charles Davis handling the analysis.
The Boys think that the Bucs would love to nail down a winning season in front of the home folks at a busy Raymond James Stadium. 24 hours after the Outback Bowl and a week before The Playoff Championship Game.
Speaking of that game The Boys breakdown all the key bowls and offer some predictions. They like Alabama and Ohio State to meet a week from Monday in The Playoff Championship Game. But they think that both Florida and Florida State will lose their respective bowl games despite both teams playing in the Sunshine State.
