Temperatures to approach freezing tonight

Hillsborough County, in anticipation of tonight’s cold weather, will open their cold shelters on Wednesday night for those without adequate heating or homes.

Forecasts call for the temperature to drop to as low as 32 degrees overnight.  Wind chills will dip well below that number, making for dangerous conditions.

Pets will be welcome at some of the shelters (listed below) for those without heat who also have pets.  All pets must be on a leash, and limited supplies will be available.

For those stranded who could not otherwise make it to the shelters, a ride can be arranged by calling the Hillsborough County Sunshine Line at (813) 272-7272 between 5:30 and 8:00 PM.
