Finding a job in Florida is getting easier if you put stock in the latest U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers.
Those numbers show that the sunshine state is leading the nation in job growth.
The state added 29,600 jobs in May, more than any other state. That includes both private sector and government positions.
And May’s job growth numbers are not a flash in the pan.
Florida has been among job growth leaders for the past year.
The number of jobs in Florida has grown by 2.7 percent in the past year, which matches Nevada.
Utah’s overall jobs have grown by 3.3 percent. And Texas and California have added more total jobs than Florida in the past 12 months.
Florida’s robust job creation numbers have the May unemployment rate down two-tenths of a point from April, to 4.3 percent.
That is even with the national jobless rate.
