You can bet that DeSantis will be pushing hard to keep Gillum off topic and make him explain what really happened in New York with his trip to see Hamilton. Who paid for the tickets and was he caught in a lie to the FBI?

Yesterday not long after the story broke Gillum was quick to respond.

“These records vindicate and add more evidence that at every turn I was paying my own way or was with my family, for all trips, including picking up tickets from my brother, Marcus, who was with a group of his own friends. But this isn’t about a Broadway show, it’s about a sideshow, because Ron DeSantis and his associates have no vision, no healthcare plan, and are running the most false, negative campaign in Florida history. Floridians deserve better.”

For Gillum, he must counter the argument that he is not the target of an FBI investigation. While at the same time push hard on DeSantis lack of substance on the issues to be more to the point healthcare, as well as possible cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

Look for DeSantis return to his theme from Sunday night’s debate where he will try to characterize Gillum as anti-police and weak on crime and renew his pledge to be another staunchly pro-Israel Republican governor.

With less than two weeks to fo before the election this could not be more important for both men. For Gillum it is all about holding a lead he has had from day one of this close election. For DeSantis, it is about casting doubt that Gillum is honest and would represent the state honestly.

We will find out the answer in less than two weeks time. Enjoy the debate.
