As Elton John showed off at the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards, he’s continuing to explore new avenues with his music. The beloved musician performed his new hit, “Home Again,” during a visit to “Good Morning America” and explains why he isn’t trying to recreate his greatest hits.
“I’m 66 now. I’m not going to write songs like I did when I was 25,” John says. “I’m a different person from what I was earlier.”
He continues, “You can’t just recreate the same thing time and time again. That would be boring. …For me, it’s moving on…I’m very happy with being the person I am now.”
Of course, he’s also happy performing his classics as well. John, who has a live show in Las Vegas called “The Million Dollar Piano,” closed out his “GMA” performance with a rendition of the fan-favorite “Your Song.”
