Case in point: During his Sept. 24 On Air With Ryan Seacrest radio interview, the X Factor creator said he won’t be present for the birth of his first child. “Are you out of your mind?” he quipped. “There are certain things you shouldn’t see and that is one of them.”
Truth be told, the future first-time father can’t wait to be by girlfriend Lauren Silverman’s side. “Don’t believe everything Simon says about not being in the delivery room. He jokes around a lot,” one of Silverman’s close pals tells E! News exclusively. “I’m sure he was just trying to be funny. He’s very committed to being there for the birth.”
