Gamers Have Been Asking And Now They Might Receive
Harry Potter Go has been rumored to be a real thing ever since Niantic Labs’ “Pokemon Go” became a big hit upon release. Now there might be real hope that HP Go is in the works.
The wizarding world of Harry Potter is rumored to be in the works for a mobile app. However, it is still an unconfirmed game. Niantic, the game developer of Pokemon Go, Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling have yet to consider the proposed game.
An online petition is still ongoing for the app to be made though. It has reached 60,859 out of the goal of 65,000 signatures to urge game developers to model a Harry Potter Go app.

What Fans Should Settle For Instead
With no official statement on the proposed app, Warner Bros. might have something to offer fans instead. To coincide with the premiere of the highly-anticipated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Warner Bros. has partnered with Mediatonic to develop a new location-based app for Harry Potter fans.
The game is titled Fantastic Beast: Cases From The Wizarding World. The app is slated to launch on November 17 and will be available from the App Store and Google Play.
While this isn’t Harry Potter Go, fans will still be able to explore places such as Hogsmeade, the Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley while being sorted into four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.
The game will also feature the Ministry of Magic and Hogswarts Castle as well as give players their own “Maurauder’s Map.”
This probably isn’t the last time Harry Potter Go will be mentioned, but for now Fantastic Beast: Cases From the Wizarding World will hold Potter fans over until some real plans are put into motion.
